A compassionate, collaborative, strengths-based approach integrating person-centered and family systems frameworks to foster resilience and lasting change.

About Jacob Medearis

My life has always been driven by a deep commitment to service, community, and human connection. Long before entering the clinical field, my years of volunteering with unhoused populations and individuals facing substance use challenges taught me the power of empathy and compassionate communication. As a first-generation college graduate, I channeled that passion into rigorous academic training, finding my true calling in helping youth navigate trauma, treating adults facing complex co-occurring disorders, and working with families to address challenges in communication, grief, and anxiety. Ultimately, I chose this path to step into the messiness of life alongside my clients, blending a strengths-based framework with a systemic lens to provide the hope, evidence-based guidance, and accountability they need to realize their own capacity for lasting, positive change.

I am committed to walking alongside you on your journey toward positive change. My therapeutic approach is grounded in hope, utilizing a strengths-based, person-centered, and family systems framework. I believe that you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to provide a compassionate, collaborative space where you feel heard and supported.

I view therapy as a collaborative partnership. Whether we are addressing complex trauma, behavioral patterns, or family dynamics, we will move at a pace that respects your boundaries while gently encouraging growth. I look forward to working together to foster the resilience and positive change you are seeking.

I currently practice as a Mental Health Counselor Associate in the state of Washington, and am a Professional Counselor Associate in Oregon.
