It is important to me that my clients feel empowered by the counseling experience, and I work hard to build a relationship that encourages choice, self-awareness, and self-determination.

About Kalee Floyd

I believe that the most important part of counseling is a strong therapeutic relationship. I do my best to create a safe, welcoming space for you. I feel that counseling should be both helpful and enjoyable. I strive to create a warm, authentic, non-judgmental, and collaborative environment. I hope that through our work together, you will feel seen, accepted, and empowered to create the world you want to live in. It is important to me that my clients feel empowered by the counseling experience, and I work hard to build a relationship that encourages choice, self-awareness, and self-determination.

My therapeutic approach is rooted in existential and humanistic dynamics. I also draw from several other approaches to support my clients, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT); and Attachment Theory. I received my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Gonzaga University. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate in the state of Washington.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, traveling, and painting. I also love listening to music, watching horror movies, reading, playing guitar, hiking, and exploring the Pacific Northwest.

Q&A With Kalee Floyd

I believe it’s important to focus on both. It is important to address immediate problems, however, I have found that those are often related to deeper issues. Often times, I find that tackling immediate problems first can make it easier to transition into the deeper issues.

I take a collaborative approach with my clients and often cater my approach depending on the client and the presenting concern.

Based on feedback I have received from former clients I would say my strengths are in developing relationships, instilling hope, and showing up compassionately, empathetically, and non-judgmentally.

Definitely teleportation. I love to travel and explore new places and teleportation would make that so much easier.

I believe laughter is so important and utilize humor frequently, when appropriate. I love dry humor, witty humor, dark humor, and sarcasm. I also enjoy stand-up comedy and animal videos.

I have several family members I would choose. Barring anyone I know personally though, I would probably choose Stevie Nicks or Roger Waters.
