About Lauren Moran

I knew that I wanted to be a therapist at a young age. I have always enjoyed helping others and listening to people’s stories. I believe that an important part of therapy is the therapeutic relationship between myself and my clients. I like to approach therapy with open communication, honesty, and humor! As a therapist, my goal is to help clients discover their strengths while introducing coping skills and theories to help clients improve their overall well-being.

My background is working in community mental health and in school-based mental health programs for high school students. I enjoy working with pre-teens, teens, and young adults. Adolescence and early adulthood often come with life transitions, which can result in depression, anxiety, self-esteem struggles, and more. As your therapist, I am here to help you learn how to navigate the ups and downs of life events and teach you skills to help you sustain positive health.

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Work in Washington State. I received my Master of Social Work degree through Fordham University. I continue to seek out continued education and enjoy learning new concepts and skills to share with clients.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family, friends, my partner, and our pets! I also enjoy baking, catching up on TV shows, and trying new coffee shops and restaurants.

I look forward to getting to know you!

Q&A With Lauren Moran

I tend to work with the client to address the problem that led them to therapy first. I find that working on the immediate problem first will help the client and I uncover the deeper issue to the current problem.

I do a little of both. I allow the client to decide what their comfort level is in leading sessions and adjust accordingly.

I take my relationship with clients very seriously. I value building a strong therapeutic alliance with clients and establishing a trusting, compassionate, and positive environment. My strengths are my honesty and sincerity. I enjoy lifting up clients and allowing them to realize their strengths as individuals.

I am a huge animal lover, so if I could have only one superpower it would be to be able to hear and understand what animals are saying and for them to understand what I say. I would love to know what animals think about and know why they act the way they do at times.

It doesn’t take much to make me laugh. I laugh at our two cats all the time, they are always up to some sort of shenanigans. I also enjoy spending time with close friends, family, and watching funny shows, such as The Office.

I would love to have dinner with my maternal Grandpa. We were very close when I was growing up, and he passed away due to Alzheimer’s disease when I was 8 years old. I would love to talk with him about my life and express my love and appreciation for him.
